Türkiye has once again expressed its readiness to facilitate peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, as confirmed by Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov. Speaking in Kazan, Ushakov highlighted that Turkish authorities have restated their offer to host discussions aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. This development comes after recent dialogues between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Throughout the conflict, Türkiye has maintained an active role as a mediator, keeping diplomatic communications open with both Moscow and Kyiv. Earlier negotiations held in Istanbul were among the most prominent direct discussions between the conflicting parties, though these did not culminate in a lasting agreement. Nonetheless, Türkiye remains committed to fostering dialogue and diplomacy as key strategies to prevent further escalation of the war.

Ankara’s diplomatic efforts are characterized by a balanced approach, maintaining engagement with both Russian and Ukrainian leaders to support international peace initiatives. This ongoing commitment underscores Türkiye’s dedication to facilitating constructive dialogue and pursuing peaceful resolutions.

By continuing to offer its resources as a neutral ground for negotiations, Türkiye aims to contribute to international efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and promoting lasting peace. The country’s diplomatic initiatives reflect its strategic intention to play a pivotal role in regional stability, leveraging its relationships with both parties to encourage meaningful discussions.
